Fitness is Fitness
I see and hear A LOT in the health & fitness industry, both locally and globally. In person, and all over social media. There is a lot of debate about what you should and shouldn’t do, eat this, not that, do this exercise, not that, this is better, that’s bad, this is cool, that’s dumb, this works, that doesn’t, blah, blah, blah.
Dude… At the end of the day, if it’s getting you off your butt and making you a better person, then it doesn’t matter which diet or exercise program you’re using.
I don’t care what standards you are using for your Burpees or your Pull ups, if you’re sweating and getting better, rock on!
It doesn’t matter if you’re doing CrossFit, Zuumba, Pilates, CycleBar, swimming, or marathons. Maybe you’re someone who likes hiking, or maybe you’re taking a water aerobics class. Maybe you’re doing the Atkins diet right now, or trying Paleo for 90 days. Maybe you just started training for your first walk-a-thon that you signed up for with your friends to honor your mother’s memory after she passed from cancer. Maybe you quit smoking for good finally, and you’re trying out a Powerlifting course to replace your nicotine habit.
Whatever you are doing, wherever you are in your life, if you’re trying your best and working on being a better version of yourself, then I support you!
Instead of the sophomoric pissing contests and the self-righteous commentary from the peanut gallery, let’s CHEER EACH OTHER ON MORE!
Fitness is fitness.
While, yes, there are some dangerous and downright stupid things out there in the health & fitness industry, most of it is good. Most of it works for certain people. Most of it helps. Most of it changes lives for the better.
So, let’s allow ourselves and each other to enjoy our OWN fitness journeys, and cheer and support each other along the way! Fitness is fitness, and a lot more of us would be willing to start and stick with it if we showed more love (and a lot less judgment)! ;-)
