Barbells For Boobs: $1,000 Gym Goal

My mother got a yearly mammogram for a long time, and they always came back negative. When it came to her health, she was of the preventive and early intervention kind. Thankfully, because she was on top of it, they found a lump in her breast very early on. It was the size of a pin-head, but, had it gone undetected, it could have aggressively grown without her knowing until it was too late. It was the type of cancer that spread quickly and killed most that had it, mainly because it was caught too late. But, because of my mother’s early mammogram, they found it in it’s infancy and were able to get rid of it. It’s almost too easy for us to take it for granted, because her story is so short and sweet. But, that’s all thanks to a yearly mammogram!!

Not everyone is as fortunate, though, and not everyone has access to health care, let alone a mammogram. That’s where Barbells For Boobs come in! They provide early detection services to men and women, regardless of their health care plans, or even lack thereof.

We, as a fitness commUNITY, want all of us to join together and raise at least $1,000 for B4B.

A typical mammogram for an uninsured person is about $100.
